The UAE Personal Status Law
The UAE Personal Status Law was promulgated in 2005 by law No. 28 of 2005 and regulated in its provisions and legal articles the conditions of jurisdiction of the personal status courts in the state, the procedures of prosecution before these courts, the methods of appeal against appeals, discrimination and the dates of appeal.
The date of the challenge of discrimination is different from the appeal provisions issued in personal cases against the date set for appeal against discrimination in the general law. The Civil Procedure Law The date of appeal for discrimination in personal cases is thirty days, while the date of appeal against discrimination in the general law is 60 days.
The Personal Status Law regulates the provisions of the sermon, the general provisions of marriage, the consequences thereof, and the provisions of divorce and separation. The law also regulates the provisions of custody, descent, eligibility and will, including the provisions of due will and inheritance.
Note that these provisions and before the issuance of the personal status law was due to the provisions contained in the Maliki doctrine, which has priority in application before the courts.
